How do I change my charity's payment method?

You can change how your charity receives funds at any time. GiveWheel currently supports payouts via Stripe, Charities Trust, and bank transfer.

The process depends on the payment method you'd like to switch to.

Switching from Charities Trust to Stripe

If your charity currently receives funds via Charities Trust, you can switch to Stripe directly from your charity dashboard.

To do this:

1. Log in to your GiveWheel charity dashboard.

2. Scroll down to Payment Settings.

3. Select Switch to Stripe.

4. Follow the steps to connect your Stripe account.

Once connected, Stripe will automatically become your charity's preferred payment method and override your CT beneficiary ID. Future payouts will be made directly to your Stripe account as part of our monthly payout run, with funds typically arriving within 2 working days of each payout.

Switching from Stripe to Charities Trust

If you'd prefer to receive funds via Charities Trust, please get in touch with the GiveWheel team, provide your CT beneficiary ID if known, and we'll make this change for you.

We'll disconnect your Stripe account, and once this has been disconnected:

• your charity will receive monthly payouts via Charities Trust;

• GiveWheel payouts are initiated on the 1st of each month;

• funds typically arrive in your bank account within 5–10 working days of each payout.

If you've chosen for Charities Trust to reclaim Gift Aid on your behalf, any eligible Gift Aid will be paid separately once it has been received from HMRC.

You'll continue to have full access to your payout and donation reporting through your GiveWheel charity dashboard.

Switching to bank transfer

If you'd prefer to receive funds via bank transfer, please contact the GiveWheel team and provide your bank details, and we'll pass that onto our finance team to add to your organisation's profile.

Please note that charities receiving funds via bank transfer are generally paid once a fundraising page has closed, rather than receiving monthly payouts while a fundraiser is ongoing.

If you'd like to receive funds monthly in the future, you can reconnect a Stripe account at any time.
